Pyramid Triathlon

Today turned into quite the impromptu workout.  I'll wait until tomorrow morning to call it a good move or not, but either way I'm happy I finished it.

PYRAMID TRIATHLON

9:00 AM - ran 4.8 miles
12:30 PM - biked 5.7 miles
1:00 PM - swam 2250 yrds (1.3 miles)
3:00 PM - biked 5.7 miles
7:30 PM - ran 4.3 miles

Questions
1.  What's the craziest, funniest, biggest, or most bizarre impromptu workout you've done?
I started out only planning to run 9 miles.  That split into two runs.  Then I agreed to swim with Chelsea.  Finally, gas prices convinced me to bike to the gym.  Before I knew it I was training 21.9 miles today.

Stay fit.  Stay healthy.

Craziest swim, Today!
Rain, with snow and sleet in Northwest Las Vegas, I did my second open water swim for my training for my first ever tri. (IronGirl April 30). It was miserable!!! I have to say that I was thankful for my aqua sox under my wetsuit. I really need to hit a run tomorrow, I think it will be warmer.... Not convinced I can do it yet. The swim is my nemesis!! How do you do it?

When I was training for the Portland Half, I ran for a while with a friend on some trails. I run at a faster pace than she does, so early on I headed off to do my own thing, telling her that I'd meet her at her house. Well, I got lost finding her house and I didn't have a cell phone with me. Luckily, another woman who was running helped me find my way. I think I ended up running (with a little walking) about 15 miles instead of my planned 11.

That is an awesome workout! Great way to break up the monotony and still get miles in :D

Man, I love your blog. A few years ago, I was training for a three-day adventure race and regularly went for long hike/runs (slow, adventure racing shuffles) or mountain bike rides at night. And one night, I was out on a ridge and had a...very scary, very intense encounter with a mountain lion. I've never trained alone at night since.
