What did I do for Easter? Swam, Biked, and Ran.

Thank you guys very much for letting the Weekly Review slide.  I'll get caught up this week, but before I can do that I had to set myself back on track with training.

While my dad was here, I quite enjoyed our time together.  We fixed my rear brakes and coolant system, had some amazing lobster bisque at the USS Chowder Pot, I got my dad to eat Thai food for the first time at the new (and Incredibly Amazing) Blue Elephant Trail, did some sports equipment shopping, and watched a couple movies.  All in all, it was a nice relaxing weekend and I haven't seen my dad since Christmas, so it was great to have him around for a bit.  But it was also two consecutive days of rest!; OMG.  So today, I had to high tail it into gear (without injuring myself).

I nearly did another pyramid workout, but only did one run instead of two.  Here's the schedule:

Biked 5.4 miles to the gym in 18:18 (mph)
Swam 3000 yards (1.7 miles)
Biked 5.4 miles home from the gym in 19:00 (mph)
Napped (I love naps!)
Ran 7.11 miles in 52:27 (7:22 pace)  Booyah!

Total Easter Day Mileage = 19.61 miles

I hope everyone had an amazing Easter Sunday with the family and friends.

No, I did not paint those eggs.  Wish I had though.

Did anyone have an Easter egg hunt as fun as this one?

I went on a 5.5 mile run in Southie this morning around Pleasure Bay.. It was BEAUTIFUL!!! What an awesome way to start off Easter :-) I then went to my aunts house in Framingham for some fam time which was amazing! My aunt, Gail, talked me into taking a spin class this week to get over my bike-phobia. She is a former triathlete so she was giving me some pointers over lunch which was much appreciated.
I'm finishing off the holiday by watching Chariots of Fire.
I may have eaten some jelly beans today... which I instantly regretted because sweets always seem more appealing than they really are for some reason. However, the pear flavored ones are delicious. Happy Easter!!!

I wonder if the rear brake and coolant job was in any way related to various "commute" rides by Team Awesome? I am not at the point of cause and effect, but I suspect they might be related.

I found 4 eggs: 3 with candy and one with money in it. Not a bad haul.

Nice Easter workout!! I pretty much vegged all day with my husband and boys. In fact, the only time I got out of my PJs was to ride on my trainer for a 35min. Spinerval workout from hell with good ole' Troy. Ha ha!!

Wow! Awesome Easter! Isn't it so nice to have parents in town once in a while? My mom visited this weekend.

I never had an under water easter egg hunt, but once in college we had a beer hunt on Easter. Does that count? :)

Sounds like a great day! I ate a lot of crap food. I did not work out Saturday or Sunday for some reason my legs shut down both days.

THANK you for the bonk story! It will be on my blog soon. Truly appreciated!

You got a ton done on Easter! Hey, that rhymed! I've just started back biking. Funny enough biking bothered me more than running when it came to my IT Band. Go figure.

My mom flew in, long story, but it's good to see your parents after they've been away for awhile!

Dinner with the family on Easter, which did include an Easter egg hunt. I did NOT eat any candy, but the homemade apple pie I made didn't stand a chance last night!

Great workout!!! So jealous cause I was a lazy blob this weekend!

Mark and I drove up to my hometown to visit my parents. We went to church, then had Easter brunch, slept, visited with my grandma, aunt and uncle who had stopped by, then ate dinner before heading back to the Minneapolis area. My mom is a fabulous cook, but she doesn't necessarily make food that's the healthiest for you. And yes... my sweet tooth had a little revenge on me for being deprived a little this Lent. :)
