What Would You Do If You Won The Lottery??

A member bought me a Mega Millions lottery ticket for last night's drawing.

I'll go ahead and ruin the surprise...

I didn't win.

But while heading to put the ticket in my bag, another member saw it and asked me...

"What are you going to do if you win?"

This was my response...

- "If I don't win, I'll be here for classes tomorrow just like normal."
- "If I do win, I'll be here for classes tomorrow just like normal."

And that's the truth!  Sure, I'd pay off loans, family debt, and set myself up with a financial planner, but that's about it.  I love what I do and if I didn't have this job, I'd be doing it as a hobby.  So while I might very well get a few new things (shoes, front fender for my car, and some more Xmas presents for the fam), I would hope that I'd be the same person I've become.

Questions
1.  What would you do if you won the lottery (aka, you won multiple million dollars)?
I'd pay off my student loans, my car loan, pay off some family debt, and call up a good financial friend!  Ok, I'd probably order every pair of Pearl Izumi Streak II shoes I could find in my size.  Gotta' splurge on ONE THING!

2.  Would you do anything different at your current job if you no longer required the paycheck it provided?
No.  While my job is at it's very basic core a means to survive (purchase food, shelter, and warmth), it is also something I love to do and I would never give that up!

All In The Name of Science!

Tomorrow I am headed to Springfield, MA to participate in a research study for a fellow triathlete's dissertation work.

I get to have my body fat percentage tested in a bod pod (the most accurate method available today) as well as my VO2 Max tested via (I believe) a treadmill intensity test.

I am excited!!  Sure, being in the off season means my body fat will be higher than normal, but who cares!  It's the off season!  But the VO2 Max should be a helpful piece of data for next year's training.

Plus, you're asking triathlete's for data they usually pay for.  Of course we're going to volunteer  Not only that, we're going to be the happiest lab rats you've ever seen.  We're endurance and data junkies!!

Questions
1.  Have you ever used a bod pod?
I'm hoping it doesn't shoot off to space.  I don't like zero gravity.  I've never been a fan of roller coasters.

2.  Have you ever had your VO2 Max tested?
This should be interesting!!

3.  Have you ever been a part of a research study?
I did a breathing study once.  I had to breathe through a tube for an hour, once with normal air and the other with 70% oxygen.  That was weird, but it paid!
