2013 Resolutions

This has taken some time to think about, tally, restructure, laugh at, re-write, ponder, evaluate for realistic nature, and finally type out.  But here it is; my 2013 Resolutions.

2013 Racing Resolutions
  1. Race 12 races throughout the year
  2. Break my 5k PR (currently 19:30 from 2010)
  3. Run my 3rd Half Marathon
  4. Run my 2nd Marathon (for time)
    • B Goal - 3:30 (8:01 pace)
  5. Run back-to-back marathons (Hartford & Newport)
  6. Race an ultramarathon
  7. Break my Lake T Sprint PR (58:06)

    • B Goal - Break 5:00
  10. Race an Ironman
    • A Goal - Ironman Lake Placid Finish
    • B Goal - Finish under 10:30
  11. Race a new event (i.e. Spartan Race)

2013 Training Resolutions

  2. Once started, maintain at least one swim, one bike, and one run each week of Tri Training
  3. Maintain strength training sessions throughout the year
  4. Make use of group training sessions
  5. Do not ignore recovery
    • Ice baths, foam & magic stick rolling, ice packs, recovery rides/runs, yoga
  6. Maintain data log
    • Bed time, Wake Time, Rise Time, Resting HR, Monthly body measurements, Body fat, and injury documentation

2013 Personal Resolutions

  1. Do 12 things that scare me throughout the year
    • I am taking any suggestions!!
  2. Obtain a 2nd coaching position
    • I might start my own coaching LLC
  3. Make time to visit my sister in PA
  4. Compile and keep a list of recipes / meal ideas
  5. Continue eating healthy
    • Choose full meals over compiling snacks
    • Avoid grocery store aisles as much as possible
  6. Continue cooking from home
  7. Continue personal reading
  8. Put 10% of my income into savings!

Now it's out on the interwebs!  I can't take it back.  I've certainly set the bar higher this year than last.  Let's see how it goes.

1.  Do you set resolutions/goals?
I never did until I started triathlons.  I find it's a great way to keep myself on track to what I want to accomplish for the year; much like a daily "to do" list.

2.  What is your biggest 2013 resolution?
Tough choice.  The 50-miler is gonna' be tough, but I think 10% savings is going to be the hardest to complete.  With as many racing resolutions as I have, money is going to be tightly monitored this year!

3.  Any suggestions on things that might scare me?
I have the first one in my head already.  But I need eleven more!  ...and I admit I don't scare easily, so I need plenty of ideas.

Dream.  Believe.  Achieve.

Hey love the new blog look. I have one suggestion for something that scares you.....

Take one week off from training completely. Nothing, nudda, zip! Put your feet up and give yourself permission to do absolutely nothing. Can it be done?
I know the idea scares the heck outta me.

p.s your 12 days of Christmas video has inspired me and my hubby. We have taken on your challenge and going to give it a go. Thanks for sharing.

That's a pretty amazing list you have going on!
I don't set resolutions - I usually have goals for the year, but for some reason I don't this year!
Scary things are hard to come up with! For me, it would be to join a few new groups and go meet new people. Sometimes it's hard for me to put myself "out there" to people I don't know!
Good luck with 2013!
